One chief concern that all parents express is the overcrowding of students in the classrooms. Parents fear that overcrowding children will not allow the students to receive the attention that they need to learn effectively, and teachers will have difficulty addressing the concerns of each student properly.
A Hostile Environment
Another chief concern that parents have about the public schools is that most of them are a hostile environment for children. Bullying is rampant, and there are not enough staff to effectively handle these issues. Some children hate to go to school so much that they have taken their own lives, so they will no longer have to suffer the abuse day in and day out. This is hardly a good learning environment at all for our children. As a matter of fact, some public schools are worse than the most hostile work environments that adults must contend with. It is unfair to expect our children to put up with this.
Under Qualified Special Education Teachers
Under qualified special education teachers is a chief concern among many parents because they worry about these teachers abusing special needs children. When a teacher does not possess the appropriate qualifications to deal with special needs children, abuse may occur because these teachers may either not have the patience or the understanding of these children. More needs to be done to insure that all special education teachers are qualified and capable to deal with even the most difficult special needs children. Then these vulnerable children will be safe.
